Welcome me back!

Well, it really seem scary that time is passing so fast. It was just within a few days, chinese new year seems to be over. whoops.

There aren't much photos to share as i hadn't taken any. Mostly babies photos of my cousins, but they weren't taken very nicely. I want to show a nice natural photo of them. But there just isn't yet. =X Next time yea?

Anyway, chinese new year at malaysia is like alright.
Hmm, before that, let me talk about the super duper disastrous traffic jam on saturday. My god! The jam at singapore took up about 2 hours long. If you had been to tuas checkpoint, you would know that to go to that checkpoint, you will pass by a circular route before going straight towards the checkpoint. And where does the jamming starts? Right after you went past the circular route.=[ BAHHH.. Now, i am really amazed by how we managed to survive this hectic traffic jam. -.-

Chinese New Year- i spent lots of time playing mahjong. haha. All my cousins were crazed about it. My cousins who were living in singapore and i played about 2 whole days of mahjong. I am amazed by my luck this year. Most of the time, i would be losing. But, this year, i am glad that I won quite a few rounds. =D yeah!! Then when cousins from malaysia arrived, we played 21 dots. (pardon if i anyhow give the tittle of the game) The game was really quick to make one win and lose at the same time. I am glad my luck persisted. In total, counting all the winnings and losses, I think i won RM 10. Hopefully this luck will persist in my Alevel results. =D

Other than playing mahjong, i had been a baby sitter in a temporary way. It is amazing to see how babies actually grow and change so fast. They are all really very cute. =D Hope to see them soon.

There was also fireworks on the first night.Due to the financial crisis, I think many people has reduce their spendings on fireworks. Some fireworks only lasted in one short "Pong" and ends immediately. Very soon, we know how to differentiate between fireworks that lasted and those that do not. When we heard simultaneous " Pong, pong", we will rush out of the house to catch the fireworks. If it was only a short one, we continue with our mahjong. haha. =]

Well, i got quite a few ang paos on my hands and legs. If you are still not sure what these angbaos is, they are actually mosquitoes bites. Although grandpa house is no longer made of wood, but bricks, i don't understand where those stupid mosquitoes comes from. =[ Worst, they only sting me.And i got the most bites. Is that good? =[
I don't think so.

Well, more celebrations in singapore coming up. Hmm, i should enjoy the remaining days of my one week break. =D

Firstly i would like to wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year!!! Take more red packets yea?

Anyway, i would like to say that recently i kept seeing my seniors and teacher whom i haven't met for a long time. Well, it is really a nice feeling seeing them again. First, I saw su hwee on my way to the farewell gathering for audrey on thursday at JP.She was my secondary school JVSS Chinese Orchestra senior who also played the liuqin. Come to think of it, i haven't seen her for a long time and she is still as pretty as ever. I also saw my primary 1-2,4 tutor when i went shopping at JP with my cousin. She is Miss Loke who was the same tutor of kaixian. We haven't met for like 8 years. I recognised her mum first before it came to me that perhaps miss loke is there with her too. Yup. Their whole family was there and her nephew mathew aka matt matt has grown rather tall now.haha. Memories of the past really appeared before my eyes .I really feel that time has passed so quickly that things done today are getting registered as our memory at a very fast speed.

A farewell gathering was held for audrey on thursday since she is going back to australia during the chinese new year. At every gathering , we practically always eat pizza hut. HAHA. I guess my stomach was about to burst after squeezing in three slices of pizza. Jun tee organised the gathering. It had been years since i last saw her too. she is still as skinny as ever and her sense of talk hadn't changed. Our characters were still the same. Hopefully everyone will stay in contact forever and ever! Loves.

Anyway, I am going to Msia to celebrate chinese new year. This full-time tutor here is going to have a one week break. Oh my! let's relax and enjoy!

Long time since i last blogged.
Anyway, this week had been a busy week.
A hectic week on tuesday as i have to rush for three tuition assignments. My gosh, I think i must have walked quite a long distance on tuesday in order to save some bus fare. Our bus fare is no longer 45 cents. =[ A few stops to around JJC will cost me about 75 cents! Sorry for grumbling. But well, tuition needs to travel, so i have been walking some distance to save some fare.

Anyway, this week i had met two new students. Both students are from china but of different homes. The P5 girl is really weird. I mean she kept joking at me, or rather shoot me back with my words. I think she is playing with me la, but i guess i have to be firm next time round to be able to teach her. What shocked me was that they actually learn P O E M S at the age of 11! I mean, i have to interpret the poems for her. Thank god, i studied literature before. If not, the first lesson would have shaken me thus. But, did we learn literature at primary 5 in our generation? I think my first approach towards lit was only in secondary one.

As for the other boy, I think my tuition experience with him did improve my attitude towards tuitioning. For one, he is very good to teach. I mean i teach what, he learnt. At least no attitude problems. =]] PLus, the mother is also very considerate and stuff, giving me drinks at every lesson. I mean, it made the tuitioning job easier.

For one, I would love to teach students to improve their grades provided they have the attitude to listen and learnt. That would really make my job easier. But, nothing is perfect in this world. I also have to learnt how to cope with students with problems.

As for a primary one student, I really hope anyone can find me a solution to his problems. I taught him what he needs to know. He knows it but he just don't want to pick up his pen and write down. I am very sure he knows, but he don't want to do. What can i do? In the end, his sister scolded him loudly and even force him to correct whatever wrong words he had purposely written. I mean, her actions and its effect really appalled me.It is like she has suddenly become the tuition teacher. haha. I then learnt from the sis her way of forcing her bro to learn. BUt, is this going to be a long-term solution?I am really not so sure.

Well, enough about my complaints in my tuition jobs.

Anyway,Chinese New year is coming soon. It is great that we are able to go back to Msia to celebrate for one whole week. I mean mum would greatly love it since she is able to chat with other aunts as freely as she wants instead of being cooped up in the house all day long. Grandma's house is definitely going to be lively during new year. It has always been so, i guess. I hope this year too. =]

I met up with xian and jingmin on wednesday and thursday respectfully. I finally met up with xian to eat my long awaited LJS. It was a nice trip talking to her even though we went somewhere near. haha. I think she missed her colleagues at IMM and we kept circling the restaurant to peek at them . haha. Somehow, it sort of reminded me the time when i worked at Bossini and there was always this unknown urge to go and peek at them when it is your day off. So, i guess, there was some memory flashback. =]

Thursday I went shopping with jingmin. ( F6, no jealous yea? , that's what jingmin said)haha. It was a trip to buy new year clothes. PLus, minmin is the same as i. We are considered "wu ye you min",well, it isn't bad that we met up. I bought some tees and a dress. Jingmin bought a shirt which you seldom see her wearing it but is really nice. Just that she feels it is not worth it.Nonetheless, we shopped quite long and i gave her the agency number to get some tuition jobs. For one thing, I miss school lots.

ok. That's all i have to say. Nothing much. Enjoy the weekends!!! =D

Hello.

Even after considering so long, i guess it would be too late to say that i want to apply for an admin job. In fact, i think i clinched quite alot of tuition jobs for myself. But the problem is , I don't know if i am walking into a path of no return. Sorry for exxagerating. Recently, from one primary kids tuition , I seem to not like tutoring alot. I don't like to teach when the person don't want to learn. I guess i have a traditional mindset. Being a teacher is not easy. Being too nice a teacher is even worst. I wish i have an open mind or a mind where i don't really brood too much about what happen. So that at least when i stepped out from my tuition time, I can go on life happily. The bad thing about me is that I brood and this doesn't makes me feel better.

Hopefully the next few other tuition are better. I mean each tuition assignment, you face students of different case. So, i just hope i don't pass the same judgement on every tuition assignment. Kempatei to myself!!!

Hopefully i can teach bigger students next time. ( as in not in their size but their level)

Anyway, cousin and I are planning to sign up for a japanese course in a CC soon. This is so exciting and even so exciting for her. But, we haven't register yet. I guessed we have to chop chop and become faster in our actions.

lalala~

Just hope everything will be smooth and fine. =D

Well,well, so long never update.
Alot of things happened in my mind. I guess i am getting abit bad at making decisions.

Finally, Mum and I went for the doctor's appointment today after three long weeks. She has managed to get rid of the black heavy velvet leg supporter and start doing some exercise. =] Although the progress is slow, but it is an improvement!!!

She say she can agar agar take care of herself. And thus , I "grabbed" the newspaper tittled "Classified" or rather" Recruits" that was hanging in the shelves in the hospital.=p

Well, i really wish that she will faster recover soon. =]]I want her to teach me cooking, buy ingredients, transfer her skills to me ! LOL. And, i want shop with mum too and celebrate new year in Msia. Hopefully she really recover soon!

Now, i am troubled whether to become a full time tutor or should i seek an admin job and learn something.

There are pros and cons for each. Let me weigh them first...
sigh...
Hopefully i can find an ans soon =D

I guess this is my first 2009 post.
All the same, hope all my prayers come true. And may 2009 be a smooth and nice year for everyone.

New year resolutions?
I really seldom crack my brain to think. Hopefully, i can find my interest and decide on a course i want to take. On top of that, will Alevel examiner be kind enough to get me into a course i want? LOL. =]

Well, read an article in msn website. And, i realise if you really explore, there are quite a few things for us to learnt and update our knowledge.

I shall share this article on 10 secrets of the effortlessly thin!!!

10 Secrets of the Effortlessly Thin

#1 They don't diet

Or at least not in the traditional, all-or-nothing, deprivation sense of the word. "You need to get rid of that diet mentality and realize that what you are doing is making a permanent lifestyle change," says Anne Fletcher, M.S., R.D., author of the Thin for Life book series. She adds, "You do have to cut back on calories if you want to stay thin, but it's about reassessing what you eat and being more sensible in your choices, not about a quick-fix, crazy diet." Research has also shown that thin people tend to have a better quality diet than those who are overweight. They eat more fruits and vegetables and more fiber, and drink more water—all healthy things that provide more food volume for the number of calories.

#2 They keep track of their weight

Thin people know how much they weigh, and they monitor that number by stepping on the scale frequently. It's not about a having an unhealthy fixation on that number on the scale, but it's a way to catch a 5-pound gain before it suddenly turns into a 20-pound gain. "Aim to keep your weight within a five-pound range, and if you see it go above that buffer zone, make sure you have an immediate plan of action for how to address it," suggests Fletcher

#3 They exercise regularly

"In my research, nine out of 10 people who've lost weight and maintained it exercise regularly and make it a critical part of their lives," says Fletcher. Even if you've never been a fitness fanatic, it's not too late to get moving. Even taking a few 15-minute walks throughout the day will be a move in the right direction. Once you start to enjoy the mood-boosting and calorie-burning advantages of exercise, start looking for ways to keep your workouts interesting. Join a local gym and try a variety of classes and cardio machines, find friends to walk with, or experiment with at-home exercise DVDs.

#4 They don't solve problems with food

Almost everyone is guilty of occasionally drowning their sorrows in a pint of Ben & Jerry's or taking out frustration on a batch of brownies, but thin people definitely don't make it a habit. "They tend not to eat purely for emotional reasons," says Fletcher. When you are upset (or bored, lonely, frustrated or angry), she suggests asking yourself: Is food really going to solve the problem, or will it just end up making you feel worse after you finish eating? Chances are, the food won't fix what's bothering you, so it's important to come up with a list of other small pleasures you can turn to instead of food. Some ideas include going for a walk, watching a movie, calling a friend, playing with your kids, or taking a bubble bath.

#5They stop eating when they're full

Most thin people are not members of the clean-plate club. Instead of mindlessly eating however much they are served, they pay attention to internal hunger cues and satiety. "Thin people are tuned into noticing when they are satisfied, and they stop eating even if there is food left," says Jill Fleming, M.S., R.D., author of Thin People Don't Clean Their Plates (Inspiration Presentations Press, 2005). "They often report that they don't like that feeling of being uncomfortably full, so they've learned how to stop before they reach it."

#6 They don't surround themselves with temptation
Rather than stocking the cupboards with junk food, thin people's kitchens tend to be filled with healthy foods. That doesn't mean you can never have any indulgences in the house, just that you shouldn't have so many that you're likely to overeat them. For example, if you love to bake, give most of your sweets away to friends, or have your kids bring them to school or soccer practice, leaving just a few behind to enjoy yourself.

#7They allow themselves treats

It's the opposite of the deprivation mentality that many overweight (but dieting) people espouse: Thin people let themselves eat what they crave, sometimes even indulging in a treat every day. "The difference is that they do it consciously, choosing exactly what they really want to eat and then eating slowly and enjoying it," says Fleming. So if it's chocolate you want, don't try to eat around the craving with an array of foods that don't really satisfy you. Instead, allow yourself to have a small but really delicious chocolate bar and put the craving to rest.

#8They eat breakfastWoman cutting a banana // © Image Source/Getty Images
According to the National Weight Control Registry, which tracks the habits and strategies of more than 5,000 people who have maintained a significant weight loss, nearly 80 percent of these successful losers eat breakfast every single day. And most of their naturally lean counterparts do the same, and make sure that they eat within about an hour of waking up. "Breakfast is literally breaking the fast of the night," says Fleming. "Until you send food into your system, your metabolism doesn't really start to kick in.

#9They move, stand and fidget more

"Thin people are rarely sitting," says Fleming. Beyond their regular fitness routines, they simply move around more—and consequently burn more calories—throughout the day. And a study at the Mayo Clinic confirmed this: Researchers found that on average, a group of lean subjects sat for two hours a day less than the obese subjects, potentially burning up to 350 additional calories.

#10They don't skip meals

There are two problems with skipping meals—and thin people are careful not to fall prey to them. Going more than six hours without food will slow down your metabolism, plus you'll likely get so desperately hungry that you'll grab anything (as opposed to something healthy) and eat too much of it. "Thin people keep their gas tanks [i.e., their stomachs] between one-quarter and three-quarters full all the time," says Fleming. The best way to do that is to eat frequent mini-meals every three to four hours.
